Miami Beaches (Miami, FL, USA)
It is the 15 miles of beaches that make Miami a little different to other large cities in America. Attracting a broad spectrum of tourists and visitors of different ages, Miami beaches are full of a diverse mixture of teenagers, families and senior citizens, all enjoying the Miami sunshine and excellent Miami beach facilities. Here are some of the main beaches in the Miami area.
South Beach (SoBe) - Miami, FL, USA
Situated between 5th and 41st Streets, the South Beach district is probably the most well-known region of Miami Beach, featuring some of Miami's best and most popular beaches. There are also many of Miami's art deco buildings located nearby, together with numerous bars, restaurants, coffee shops and nightclub venues.
Lummus Park Beach - 5th Street to 23 Street, Miami, Florida, USA
One of the most popular and busy stretches of Miami's vast beach is concentrated between 5th Street to 23 Street, which is better known as 'Lummus Park'. There is a large surf area at the south end of the beach, by the rocks. Topless sunbathing is permitted, but nudists are not allowed on this Miami beach. The beach area around Miami's 12th Street is particularly popular with gay couples.
Northern Miami Beach - Miami, FL, USA
Northern Miami Beach is situated north of where the Julian Tuttle Causeway connects the island with Miami and the area is home to a mixture of residential and commercial developments, as well as a number of excellent, trendy beach areas.
Haulover Beach Park - Miami, FL, USA
This beautiful part of Miami Beach features soft, golden sand, warm water and excellent coastal views of South Miami Beach. Situated at Haulover Beach Park, slightly north of Bal Harbor, the dense vegetation hides many of the inland apartment blocks are creates a secluded beach area where many people choose to to sunbathe in the nude. Kayaks are available to rent in this area, for paddling up the nearby Oleta River.
North Shore State Recreation Area - Miami, FL, USA
Located close to Miami's Surfside, between 79th and 87th Streets, Miami's North Shore State Recreation Area is a wonderful preserve of around 40 acres of sand dunes. Facilities at this beach area include boardwalks, changing rooms, picnic tables, barbecue pits and bicycle pathways.

Miami's Crandon Park Beach is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Miami and has much to offer. Attractions include 3 miles / 4.5 km of glorious, golden beaches, almost 500 acres of parkland, picnic areas, an area for roller-skating, amusements, children's rides, a playground area for children, sports fields and a landscaped 18-hole golf course.
